Making Polaroid photographs using the Polaroid Conversion Unit

Load the polaroid camera with a fresh pack of film, being careful that the black sleeve is folded over so that no light will enter and fog the film. The cover sheet will be ejected automatically, making the top sheet of film available.

Plug in the cable of the transparent electrode into the red High Volage Output plug marked "Positive" Plug the green ground wire into the black High Voltage Output plug that is marked "Negative." Connect the other end of the ground wire to a secure electrical ground.

Set fine frequency to 0.

Set intensity  to 60% - 70%

Push the pulse button, and adjust the Base frequency until the green output light is lit. This should occur around 50-60K.

Insert hand into the black sleeve, being very careful not to admit any light that will fog the film. Place fingers on film and press pulse button for 1 to 2 seconds. It is important not to press down on the film too hard. Light pressure is sufficient.

Push the shutter button and let the film eject and develop. If the image is too bright, decrease the pulse time or intensity setting. If image is too dim, increase the pulse time or the intensity.

CAUTION! DO NOT ALLOW THE BLACK HIGH VOLTAGE CABLE CONNECTED TO THE HIGH VOLTAGE OUTPUT TO TOUCH ANY OTHER WIRES, METAL OR PEOPLE. THE VOLTAGE IS VERY HIGH AND CAN ACTUALLY GO THROUGH THE RUBBER INSULATION
DO NOT TOUCH ANY METAL OR ANY OTHER PERSON WHILE TOUCHING THE ENERGIZED PLATE
