Tips on Grounding Your Unit for Use With Transparent Electrode

When using the transparent electrode to view people's fingertips, it is neccesary to electrically ground the Kirlian power unit. If the unit is not grounded, power is greatly reduced. DO NOT USE THE GROUND ROD FOR PEOPLE WHEN VIEWING FINGERTIPS ON THE TRANSPARENT ELECTRODE.

There are several ways of grounding your unit. The best and easiest way is to insert the 1" long screw, (provided) into the round ground plug on any household AC receptacle, and then clip the alligator clip on the 6' black ground wire to the screw. Then plug the other end into the ground output jack on your unit.

You may also simply clip the alligator clip to any other metal ground source such as:

- A large metal appliance that is plugged in to an AC wall plug. This would include, a stove, a refrigerator, a microwave oven, etc.

- A waterpipe, or a metal sink

- When using outdoors, a metal rod plunged 10" or more into the soil works fine.

It is not neccesary to ground the unit when using the Polaroid conversion unit, since you are supplying the opposite polarity to the subject through the black ground output jack to the wrist ground strap. It is also not neccesary to ground the unit when viewing or photographing small specimens on the film plate, since you will be supplying the opposite polarity to the specimen from the ground output jack through a cat whisker wire.
